Peace Center for the Performing Arts, Greenville, SC
Deciding on the best place to live can be an exciting yet challenging task. With so many wonderful options available, it’s essential to narrow down your choices based on your preferences, lifestyle, and needs. In Upstate South Carolina, you’ll discover a wealth of incredible towns and areas that offer something for everyone.
While everyone loves the city of Greenville, I wanted to cover some of the areas outside the “big city” for those looking to enjoy Greenville’s amenities and quality of life without the traffic or bustle.
Let’s take a closer look at three fantastic locations with some small-town vibes in Greenville County: Greer, Travelers Rest, and Landrum.
Greer: Where Nature Meets City Life
Nestled just outside of Greenville, Greer is a thriving community known for its welcoming atmosphere and access to nature. Here, you’ll find a harmonious blend of city amenities and picturesque landscapes, making it an ideal choice for those seeking convenience without sacrificing a connection to the great outdoors.
One area that stands out to Dan and I in particular is northern Greer, also referred to as Blue Ridge. Situated just 10 minutes north of the city of Greer, this neighborhood offers breathtaking views and easy access to Lake Robinson. The shimmering waters and surrounding greenery create a serene backdrop for residents and visitors alike.

The fun airplane-themed decor adds a touch of whimsy to your dining experience, making it a favorite among locals. From classic margherita to creative specialty pizzas, there’s something for every palate. Oh, and I just thought about the appetizer, “Frickles” 🙂 that we love. Yes, fried pickle spears are a must try, too!
